DYLAN JUDE HARRELL
COMMUNITY CENTER
OUR STORY
Dylan Jude Harrell was a sweet and sassy four-year-old when she was diagnosed with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) on August 8th, 2018. DIPG is a rare, incurable brain cancer that affects 200-400 children a year, typically between the ages of four to eleven. Dylan bravely battled DIPG without complaint for 20 months and passed away on April 9th, 2020.
Dylan loved fashion, music, and her family and friends. She loved to swim and had been looking forward to playing soccer and starting ballet.
We hope that Dylan’s brave, fighting spirit will live on in this community and that the Dylan Jude Harrell Community Center can be a place where people young and old come together to make memories, find community, and have fun!
We build brave youth and help our community thrive.
OUR NEW HOME
In October of 2025 we opened the Education Center in Ilwaco. This is the first step in creating a full campus to support youth & families in our community. Additional buildings will increase recreation and education opportunities for our community in the years to come.

OUR PROGRAMS
Early Learning
With programs for our youngest learners, ages 6 weeks to 5 years, we offer both year-round childcare and inclusive preschool. Located in Ilwaco and Long Beach, we have two facilities caring for the future of our community.
Ilwaco Youth Sports
As the Administrator of Ilwaco Youth Sports, we provide 10 sports over the course of the school year and sports day camps in the summer months. Registration for sports happens by season and often opens months in advance.
After School Program
Our 21st Century Community Learning Center After School Programs serve youth in Kindergarten-12th grade in Ocean Beach School District. This is a free program focused on social/emotional skill development and ensuring academic success.
Day Camp Programs
Our summer programs serve youth 5-17 in a variety of ways. We offer Traditional Day Camp, Sports Camps, Teen Leadership Programs, and opportunities for service learning.
Family Resource Center
Our low-barrier, single point of access, Family Resource Center connects families with community resources and provides much-needed direct resource distribution.
