OTHER ASSISTANCE?

If you have any other questions, call the number below and someone from our Family Resource Center will help!

What is a Family Resource Center?

Washington State defines Family Resource Centers as “place-based organizations that provide a single point of entry to a range of services for anyone in the community. FRCs provide information, assess needs, make referrals to family services, and provide direct delivery of family services by FRC staff or contracted providers.”

What is considered a “family”?

A family is any household/group of people that includes at least one person between the ages of 0-21. We primarily only serve those that fit this definition, though some of our programs are available for people outside this definition.

What do Family Resource Center programs cost?

Our programs and services are offered free of charge to families. Any service that has a fee associated with it will always have a sliding scale and the option to participate at no cost.

What services does this FRC provide?

First and foremost, we are a place where you can come to be connected with resources for your family. We can make referrals to community services, provide direct support, and be your advocate as a family. Our goal is to ensure that families have what they need to thrive - which often means connecting them to current resources in the community.

In addition, we provide direct service in the following:

  • Housing Supports

  • Clothing Supports

  • Food Supports

  • Transportation Supports

  • Legal Clinics

  • Parenting Education

  • Family Activities

  • playgroup

    Family Playgroup

Playgroup is a great time for caregivers and young people (birth to 5) to play and learn together. We do activities, have snacks, and have space for little ones to move their bodies. This one-hour a week is a great time to support the development of positive relationships between littles and their trusted adults.

    Wednesdays from 10:30-11:30AM!

  • parenting-ed-poster

    Parenting Education

We have staff trained to facilitate Triple P parenting, the Nurturing Parent programs, Ready! for Kindergarten programs, and Positive Behavior Management. In 2024, we plan to offer monthly parenting education courses in a variety of formats and for many different age groups.

Parenting Education is FREE, stay tuned for dates to be announced.

Stacy and Ophelia

“Whether it’s rent assistance, a utility bill, preschool, fuel, etc., DJHCC has had me covered. Even when we did not need any of the above, just receiving that delightful “check-in” text from Gwen or Robyn is comforting beyond words. That text, asking how we are, and if we need anything this week, is my favorite part of being taken under Dylan Jude’s wing. Not having to stress over basic needs frees my mind, improves my family’s quality of life, and most importantly improves my ability to be a patient, positive, and loving parent. Grandparent in my case.”

Ophelia, age 4
